Oleksandr Legenkyi’s first World Championship ended with a solid top five finish in Cremona.
Over the weekend, Legenkyi completed one of the most important races of the season, the OKN-J World Championship, the first race in the FIA Karting universe. It was a 360° commitment for Alex who, right from free practice, worked hard with his team, also dealing with the unpredictable weather conditions in Cremona.
After a good qualifying session, Alex did his best in the numerous heats scheduled, managing to win two heats, obtain a second place with the fastest lap and a fifth place. These were important results for the Ukrainian driver, further enhanced by his victory in the Super Heat on Sunday morning, which allowed him to start in third position for the world final.
It was a hard-fought race from start to finish, where Legenkyi did well not to make any mistakes and stay in the leading group. He finished fifth and secured a place in the Top Five of his first FIA Karting World Championship.
