Francesco Pizzi takes home the 2020 F4UAE Champion and also the Rookie Champion title and giving his team Xcel Motorsport the Team Champion crown.

It has been an amazing season for the 15-year old from Rome at his first experience in single seaters. Francesco Pizzi’s maiden season in Formula 4 starts with a triple win on occasion of the first round at the Dubai Autodrome. The second round held at Yas Marina Circuit should have been the one confirming his value, and it did it: two wins out of four races. After a short break the F4UAE returns to Abu Dhabi to contest the third round and, once again, Francesco opens his gap in the championship standing with another win in a complicated weekend. The fourth round in Dubai replies the same plot: 2 wins out of four races.

In the fifth and last round of the series held in Dubai, Francesco takes the second spot on the grid in qualifying and crosses the line in fourth in Race 1. The Race 2 shows Francesco in fifth position, but in Race 3 the second position is enough to win the championship with one race still to be contested! In Race 4, Francesco slows down and finishes on P9.

“It’s really hard to find the words to describe how I feel now and how I felt at the end of Race 3. I arrived at the parc fermé and I was crying in my helmet… After a lot of difficult years in karting, after a lot of hard working, finally I see the pay off. It has been a team work: my family, my team, my sponsors and Gimmi Bruni: we moved in the same direction and I wasn’t alone in my car. I felt all the positive vibes coming from the pit lane, from Italy where my friends were supporting me. Really unbelievable! Now it’s time to recover a little bit from this campaign in Middle East and to set up the forthcoming season in Italy. Thanks to all for the support you gave me on the social networks and through media pages, I hope it will be the first page of a long and beautiful book..!”

Here are the results of the race.
