The rookie Francesco Pizzi takes three wins out of three races in his debut in single seater during the first round of the F.4 UAE in Dubai.
Impressing debut for Xcel Motorsport’s Francesco Pizzi in the first round of the Formula 4 UAE held at the Dubai Autodrome. The young driver from Rome takes the win in all the three races disputed, whilst the fourth one has been cancelled because of heavy rain.
After topping the time sheet during the Tuesday testing session, Francesco takes the second position in free practice and qualifying behind the local female driver Hamda Al Qubaisi. When Race 1 gets underway, Francesco hesitates a bit and slips in third position, but he recovers and amazes the spectators with a double outside-line overtake on the first corner that gives him the leadership. Once leading the pack, Francesco drives until the checquered flag and takes home his first win in formula at his debut race!
In Race 2 it takes only few laps for Francesco to pass from grid 6th to 1st and crossing the finish line ahead of the group, securing the second win in a row. During this race he has been protagonist of an amazing duel with Hamda Al Qubaisi. Race 3 has been delayed because of the weather conditions, but Francesco keeps the calm and takes the lead of the race starting from grid 2nd immediately after the green light. Another flag to flag race for the Xcel Motorsport driver who takes home the jackpot. Race 4 has been canceled because of critical weather conditions.
“Winning is always incredible, especially at the debut in single seater! It has been a while since my last win in karting, so it gives these wins an even more sweet taste. I worked so hard to get these results and now I’m really happy and proud of what I’ve done so far. The first race has been really hard because Lorenzo was right behind me, but I wanted to impress at my debut and I did it! Francesco Pizzi will return on track for the F.4 UAE, round 2 in Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, on January 17thand 18th.
