The Belgian driver concluded a positive weekend in Valencia during the first round of the Champions Of The Future, in preparation for the Senior European Championship.

The international season officially kicked off this past weekend with the first competition branded “Champions Of The Future” by RGMMC, which is meant to anticipate what we will see on the track during the FIA European Karting Championship. It was therefore an excellent opportunity for Lenn Nijs to become even more familiar with the category and to work together with his team and mechanics in view of the European Championship.

The Valencia circuit was immediately interpreted positively by Lenn during official qualifying, which ended with fifth place in Group F and thus a good starting position for the numerous heats on the programme.

Convincing results during the heats, always close to the top ten despite two penalties too many due to the incorrect positioning of the front spoiler. Also during Sunday’s Super Heat, Lenn showed good speed by qualifying for the OK Senior final.

The last act of the weekend then saw the Kart Republic driver fight in the best possible way to recover positions despite starting from the back of the field, finishing 24th but with twelve positions recovered from the start.

Lenn will be back on track next week when he officially starts his first FIA European Karting Championship in the OK Senior category.
