The weekend just gone saw Nikita Ljubimov on track at Genk for the first RMC Euro Trophy round.

It was a long-awaited engagement for the Estonian driver of the Bouvin Power team, who was able to improve day after day, finishing in contention for the best positions in the Mini category.

Qualifying was not as Nikita had hoped, finishing P9 in his series and P17 overall (fifth time in Group A). A good starting position in any case, thanks to which the Estonian driver was able to fight for the three heats available between Friday afternoon and Saturday.

The great feeling with the track of Genk, one of Nikita’s favourites, facilitated the battle on the track where he always finished in a comeback with a P8 (which then became P16 due to a penalty), P2 with seven positions recovered and another seven in the third heat which ended again in P2.

Excellent progression made even better by Nikita during Prefinal B where he recovered four positions to then win under the chequered flag. A truly excellent result sanctioned by a very hard-fought final from start to finish where the Bouvin Power team driver did his best to finish in P8 overall.

A good start to the RMC Euro Trophy while waiting for the second round, which will be in Germany at Wackersdorf from 7 to 9 June.

Nikita thanks his team, his mechanic, Rotax, everyone who supports him and of course his family.
